IATF 16949 is the globally recognized quality management standard for the automotive industry. It covers the relevant requirements for effectively operating a quality management system (ISO 9001), with the goal of standardizing the quality management systems of organizations in the automotive industry. It aims to achieve continuous improvement, emphasize defect prevention, and reduce variations and waste in the supply chain. This standard is closely related to key business operations and is therefore a mandatory standard for many automotive manufacturers (OEMs) and suppliers.
- 1. Avoid redundant certification audits for the company;
- Consolidate quality requirements for automotive suppliers and propose a unified global quality system approach;
- Reduce production variation and improve overall efficiency.
- Three Certificates in One" (Ensure valid within the country)
- Provide drawings or technical agreements (applicable when the product design is not within the application scope)

- The audit cycle in the audit plan is three (3) years, and the certification cycle is also three (3) years.
- The first audit cycle includes an initial two-stage audit (Stage 1 and Stage 2), surveillance audits at agreed intervals in the first, second, and third years, and a recertification audit in the third year.
- The first three (3) year audit cycle starts from the last day of Stage 2 of the initial audit. Each subsequent audit cycle starts from the last day of the recertification audit.
- The three (3) year certification cycle starts on the certification decision date. The certification decision date is the certificate issuance date.
A new three (3) year certification cycle begins on the recertification decision date. The recertification decision must be made before the expiration date of the existing certificate. The recertification decision date is the new certificate issuance date. The existing certificate is void from that date. - The certificate expiration date is up to three (3) years minus one (1) day after the certification and/or recertification decision date. Once issued, the certificate remains valid until it expires, is canceled, or is revoked.
The certificate of conformance is used to confirm that when customers are unable to achieve IATF16949 certification due to the following reasons, they have met IATF16949 and process requirements outlined in the "Rules":
A) New sites with less than twelve (12) months of internal or external performance data for automotive production and/or service parts within the scope of certification;
B) Existing sites that can demonstrate their inclusion on the effective bidder list of customers requiring certification or IATF16949 compliance.
